Save Our Water launches the Water for Life Blue Ribbon Campaign

Save Our Water is inviting all water allies to join in an Earth Day celebration for the launch of the Water for Life Blue Ribbon campaign, which aims to show the world that Centre Wellington stands united to “save our water.”

On April 23 Greenspace Elora at the corner of Metcalfe and Mill Streets (rain location Elora Brewing Company) will provide opportunities to:

– buy a blue ribbon for your front door or tree;

– decorate a banner;

– check out or purchase some local water art;

– make water friends, meet water allies;

– Write a postcard to “Tell Kathleen Wynne to say NO to Nestlé and the Middlebrook well”; and

– enjoy free face painting and performers (musicians and Bubbleology show 3pm).

Speeches begin at 4:30pm.

Sign up to volunteer, canvass, donate; or visit Save Our Water’s new campaign office, 71A Metcalfe Street.

Later musicians James Gordon, Nick Gush and Pam Davies and friends for Water Music, will stage a Save Our Water benefit concert at the Elora United Church 7 to 8:30pm. Tickets $20 at the door all proceeds will go to the Aquifer Defence Fund.

Save Our Water came into being in April 2015 when a group of Centre Wellington residents decided that Nestlé “should never be permitted to take our water.” Visit saveourwater.ca for more information.
