Erin Theatre is presenting The Cemetery Club this season.
The story follows the lives of three Jewish widows of “a certain age” who have seen it all.
The three women are sisters under the skin, who have been together since their childhood.
They have shared joy and sorrow, comforting and supporting each other through the worst times in their lives, including the deaths of their husbands.
Doris, played by Angela Gibson, is wholly devoted to her late husband.
The flirty and flamboyant Lucille, portrayed by Carol McCone Day, has had enough. She is ready to move on with her life.
Ida, played by Barb McKee, is in the middle but leaning toward Lucille. She agrees that it is time to move on.
Enter Sam (Chris Reid), an attractive widower who is also looking to move on with his life. His faltering efforts have brought him to Ida and the attraction is mutual.
Director Kathryn DeLory tells the story through real and appealing characters, officials say.
The Cemetery Club opened April 10 at David’s Restaurant in Erin and will run each weekend until April 30.
Dinner and show tickets can be purchased for $40 plus tax or lunch and matinee tickets can be purchased for $30 plus tax.
The dinner shows start at 7pm and the matinees at noon.
