In what recently has become a regular occurrence across the county, more super mailboxes were struck by vandals/thieves last week.
On March 22 at about 9:25am, Wellington County OPP received a report that the Canada Post super mailbox located on the Eighth Line near Wellington Road 7 in Centre Wellington was entered and damaged sometime overnight.
On March 24 at about 3:58am police received a report that the superbox on Schmidt Drive in Arthur was entered and damaged sometime overnight.
While on their way to investigate that incident, officers observed that the superbox on Eastview Drive in Arthur was also hit by vandals/thieves.
“It is unknown how much mail, if any, has been taken in these incidents or the estimate of damage done to the mailboxes,” police said in a press release.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Police encourage residents to remove mail daily from mailboxes and to report any suspicious activity observed.
“If you see something, say something,” police stated.
