The last of this season’s popular Gallery Concert Series will take place in the Wellington County Museum’s exhibition hall on March 20 from 2 to 4pm.
Venturi Winds present a programme which includes Woodwind Quintet by Ronald A Beckett, a contemporary Canadian composer from Simcoe who is the artistic director of Arcady, an ensemble dedicated to the performance of Beckett’s compositions and to early music.
Also on the program will be Divertimento by Haydn which includes the Chorale St. Antoni, a piece later used by Brahms for the St Anthony Variations, and an arrangement of Londonderry Air by Healey Willan.
Venturi Winds welcome their new oboist, Katrina Liddell, a freelance player and teacher of oboe and piano in Kitchener.
Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. Entry includes refreshments and entrance to all museum exhibits.
