Guelph Arts Council invites artists to apply for final round of HATCH

In partnership with the City of Guelph, Downtown Renewal and Downtown Guelph Business Association, Guelph Arts Council invites professional and emerging artists to apply for the third and final round of HATCH [pop-up art-space], a creative spaces project that connects artists with free temporary art space in under-utilized and transitioning spaces in downtown Guelph.

Properties donated in this round include: public installation spaces in decommissioned Guelph Transit bus shelters, the front window at Guelph’s co-working hub 10 Carden, and a vacant commercial unit in Old Quebec Street Mall.

Artists interested in popping up temporary installations and exhibitions in one of these spaces can find more information at www.guelpharts.ca/hatch-pop-up-art-space.

Interested artists can apply online at https://form.jotform.com/60545643727965.

The deadline for applications is March 20 at noon. Successful applicants will be notified by March 25.

Successful applicants are matched with a space for approximately 30 days. Artists are provided with free space and compensated for installation costs, as well as artist and/or professional fees. Permitted uses and available dates vary for each property. See application for more detailed information.

For more information artists may contact project coordinator Melissa Gobeil at creativespaces@guelpharts.ca or 519-836-3280.
