On Feb. 24 the Ontario Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (OSSGA) announced 29 winners of Industry Recognition Awards.
The Tikal Pit, operated by CBM Aggregates has earned the prestigious Progressive Rehabilitation Award, and the Wellington Pit, operated by Capital Paving has won the coveted Community Relations Award from the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA).
Presented at OSSGA’s Annual Conference in Niagara Falls, the Progressive Rehabilitation Award recognizes outstanding progress in the rehabilitation of active pit or quarry sites, while the Community Relations Award recognizes good neighbourly activities, community involvement, media relations, education and awareness.
The Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA) is a non-profit industry association representing nearly 300 sand, gravel, and crushed stone producers and suppliers of valuable industry products and services. Collectively, our members a large majority of the approximately 164 million tonnes of aggregate consumed annually on average in the province to build and maintain Ontario’s infrastructure needs. OSSGA works in partnership with government and the public to promote a safe and competitive aggregate industry contributing to the creation of strong communities in the province.
