Auditions for Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, adapted by Thomas Hischak, will be held Jan. 16 and Jan. 17 from 1 to 4pm at the Elora Community Theatre (ECT) Workshop at the corner of Katherine St. (Waterloo Regional Road 23) and Highway 86.
No appointment is needed and aspiring actors are encouraged to audition anytime between 1pm and 4pm.
If call backs are needed, they will take place on Jan. 18 at 7:30pm.
This version of Little Women has a large varied cast and offers opportunities to many people interested in being on stage with roles that will suit everyone.
Director, Debbie Stanson, is no stranger to large cast productions for ECT, having directed Anne and Gilbert, the Musical, Tom Sawyer, Peter Pan, Shakespeare in the Park (two summers) and Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea.
Since the story covers several years and many characters, a narrator, Josephine (Jo) Marsh, gives background information to the audience to tie the scenes together.
This adaptation of Little Women requires six male actors ages 14 to 80 and 22 female actors ages 10 to 80.
The show will be performed at the Fergus Grand Theatre from May 6 to 15 including shows at 12:30 and 8pm Fridays; 2 and 8pm Saturdays; and 2pm on Sundays.
