The Stress Management and High Performance Clinic will be marking International Stress Awareness Day on Nov. 4 with a special, free workshop for the public.
Heart Smart Stress Management will take place in Room 335 University Centre at the University of Guelph from 7 to 9pm.
A truly heart-healthy lifestyle is more than exercise and diet. The third and most important key is stress management.
Yet this component is the most neglected. One in five healthy people are “hot reactors” (they have stronger than average cardiovascular responses when physically or mentally stressed).
Unfortunately cardiovascular disease is predictable in hot reactors who do not learn to modify this response.
In this workshop Kathy Somers presents the most effective relaxation and biofeedback strategies for relaxing the cardiovascular system. Everyone is welcome to attend.
