Town appoints full-time EDO

The Town of Erin  has hired Robyn Mulder as its first permanent full-time economic development officer (EDO), starting Nov. 9.

The EDO position will report directly to CAO Kathryn Ironmonger.

“I am excited about the new EDO position and look forward to working with Robyn as we work with the East Wellington Chamber of Commerce and Village of Erin BIA to solidify business retention and expansion across our community,” Ironmonger stated in an Oct. 23 press release.

Town officials say Mulder has over 10 years of community economic development experience with Centre Wellington and Wellington County, plus over two decades of experience working in public relations and customer service.

Most recently engaged as the “global talent attraction coordinator” for the county, Mulder completed over 50 interviews with Wellington County businesses experiencing workforce concerns and provided aid to those experiencing difficulty finding specific skill sets locally.

“The Town of Erin is fortunate to have someone of Robyn’s experience as we lay out the roadmap for community economic development over the next four years,” said Mayor Allan Alls.

Erin engaged Bob Cheetham on a one-year contract last November to establish a new economic development committee and develop an action plan for the next four years (to be presented to council on Nov. 3).

“Robyn’s experience will add significant value to that process,” said Cheetham, who will complete his responsibilities with the municipality on Nov. 27.
