Community scored the only goal of the first period.
A scramble at the Bethel net ended with Kevin Gingrich snapping the puck past a sliding goaltender. Assists went to Kyle Wideman and Tony Martin.
Community added three more goals in the second period. Jeff Horst, Gerald Martin and Graham Wideman scored, assisted by Cal Martin, Delmer Frey, Ryco Martin and Lamar Martin.
Community added two more goals to start off the third. A slap shot by Tony Martin and a wrist shot from Cal Martin created the goals. Assists were earned by Kevin Gingrich, Kyle Wideman, Jeff Horst and John Horst.
Bethel finally responded midway through the final period. Nathan Holland and Steve Wideman set up Sarba Broderick standing at the left post. A quick flick and the puck was in the net.
But it was too little, too late and Community claimed the solid win.
DRAYTON 1 LISTOWEL 0
The first goal didn’t materialize in this game until late in the second period.
With just over a minute left Drayton struck for the first goal. Eric Decker snapped a screened shot as he was dragged down on the ice. Assisted by Dave Mulder and Herman Mulder.
Listowel had a pair of power plays in the third but couldn’t find the equalizer.
Although Listowel fought hard, Drayton kept the one goal lead to hold on for the win.
FLORADALE 6 MISSIONARY 3
Missionary grabbed an early goal on their first shift of the game.
Pat Landman skated in on net and tucked the puck in the short side. Dylan Bults and Devon McGuire assisted.
Missionary padded the lead in the first minute of the second period. Dave Scholten came in on the right side boards and snapped a rising wrist shot into the webbing, assisted by Brady Franklin.
The lead quickly disappeared as Floradale stormed back with a pair of goals to tie the game.
Nick Martin snapped a shot into the short side and Ryan Weber converted a centring pass with a blast over the glove of the netminder. The goals were assisted by Willis Martin, Gary Martin, Ryan Martin and Braedon Gingrich.
Floradale took the lead early in the third. Corey Wideman drifted along the blue line and snapped a hard shot along the ice to send the puck into the opposite corner, assisted by Braedon Gingrich and Josh Brohman.
With the lead secured, Floradale went on to quickly add another pair of goals. Dan Martin and Corey Wideman scored, assisted by Ryan Martin and Wideman.
Missionary fought back for a goal to try and stay in the game.
A scramble at the net ended with Curtis Bults sending the puck over a fallen goaltender, assisted by Dylan Williams and Pat Landman.
However, Dan Martin added a power play goal late in the game to assure the win. Assisted by Ryan Martin and Corey Wideman.
