With a theme of Family Ties and Homemade Pies, the 179th Fergus Fall Fair will embody the true spirit of a rural agricultural fair.
The 2015 fair runs from Sept. 18 to 20. However preliminary attractions include a beef barbecue and fair ambassador competition on Sept. 16 at 6pm and a midway-only night on Sept. 17, with free admission to the fairgrounds from 7 to 9pm.
The fair itself kicks off Friday night with a chili cook-off at 5pm and tractor pulls beginning at 6pm.
Saturday’s events include a light horse show, 4-H and open dairy and beef shows and a garden tractor pull. The mini modified and truck pulls begin at 6pm Saturday evening.
Sunday’s events begin with a family pancake breakfast at 8am and include a heavy horse show, an antique and classic car show, the annual pony/dog run and a goat show. The western games horse show begins at 12:30pm and the children’s pedal pull begins at 1pm.
