The University of Guelph Arboretum Auxiliary plant sale returns once again in 2015 with a huge variety of trees, shrubs and perennials.
The sale will be held Sept. 12 from 9am to 2pm at the R.J. Hilton Centre on College Avenue East. The plant sale runs rain or shine and admission is free.
This year a selection of plants is available, including rare natives such as black tupelo, pawpaw, mountain holly, Canada fly honeysuckle and slippery elm, as well as some outstanding exotics including seven-sons-tree, Manchurian cherry, fringe tree and bald cypress. As always, there will be a selection of native wildflowers, ferns, grasses, sedges, fruit trees, indoor plants and high-quality ornamental perennials.
With an array of rare plants and great prices, this is a very popular sale, so be sure to arrive early for best selection.
Check out the arboretum website or call 519-824-4120 ext. 52358 for information.
Plants are grown and cared for by arboretum auxiliary members in the arboretum’s nursery and greenhouse. All sale proceeds aid the ongoing maintenance and development of the arboretum, a 408-acre living museum of plant collections, gardens, forests, conservation and research projects, and public outreach programs tucked amidst the University of Guelph campus.
