Insights juried exhibit returns to Wellington County Museum

One of the most anticipated exhibits of the year Insights returns to Wellington County Museum and Archives this summer.

Displaying a wide range of original art from local artists residing in the county and its surrounding area, this annual exhibit is organized and sponsored by the Elora Arts Council Insights Committee and runs from June 18 until Sept. 7.

“Insights is always a popular exhibit because the quality and variety of artwork is exceptional,” said curator Susan Dunlop. “Paintings, photography, works on paper and material arts are all highlighted, showcasing the creativity of emerging and well established artists in the area.”

The opening reception was on June 17 at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

As an added feature, the Insights committee has organized a Walk with the Jurors for June 21 from 1:30 to 3pm.

Jurors Ron Shuebrook, Dr. Ilse Gassinger and Tom Smart will share how their sensibilities, attitudes and ideas shaped the exhibit.

Admission is $5.

The Wellington County Museum and Archives is located on Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora.

The galleries are open weekdays from 9:30am to 4:30pm, and on weekends from 1pm to 5pm.
