A motorcycle driver was seriously injured in a May 1 crash here.
At approximately 5:30pm Wellington County OPP officers received a report of a single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Wellington Road 8 east of Wellington Road 9.
Officers responded along with firefighters from Mapleton Fire and Rescue.
Police say a motorcycle travelling east on Wellington Road 8 left the roadway entering the south ditch. The driver was transported by Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police said on May 4 the driver was still in hospital, but the injuries were no longer-considered life-threatening. The cause of the crash, which closed a section of Wellington Road 8 for several hours, is still under investigation.
