A local resident who filed a complaint with the Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD) after witnessing a police cruiser allegedly speeding through a busy school zone here, says she will participate in a resolution-based meeting with the officer rather than going through with a formal complaint.
Christina Woodley of Erin who filed the complaint on April 16 after witnessing an incident near Bribane Public School on Highway 124 that day, said she was pleased when an OIPRD official suggested a meeting with the officer during an April 24 telephone call.
“I told him I would be interested in that option as that was my initial intention when I went to the OPP,” said Woodley.
Woodley told the Advertiser an officer at the Rockwood OPP detachment advised her to contact the OIPRD directly and didn’t ask any questions about her reasons for wanting to file a complaint.
