Elora Festival book sale

Over 20 dedicated volunteers work year-round to sort, organize and price the 60,000+ books for the  annual Elora Festival book sale.

This gently-used-book sale is one of the largest in Ontario and draws people in from far and wide.

There are no restrictions on the number of books you can purchase, and with over 40 different categories there’s sure to be something for everyone.

This year organizers have added staff picks as a new category  – and encourage visitors to browse the Collectors Corner for rare books.

All proceeds go to the Elora Festival and Singers.

A $5 admission fee is charged on Friday evening only.

The admission fee includes a $5 voucher redeemable for purchases on Sunday, May 3. Admission is free for children.

This year also marks a change in the storage policy.

While staff will continue to provide storage for boxes of books during the EFS book sale, there will be no sorting allowed in the storage area or anywhere else during the event.

Boxes of books going into storage will be tallied and must be paid for upon checkout.

The tally operation will be done with helpers who will re-box the tallied books and put them in storage with identification number and tally amount marked on the box. A running tally sheet of the stored boxes will be kept for each dealer or individual, enabling a fast and simple checkout.

This change in policy is as a result of books being taken off the tables, stored and then rejected at the end of the day. This has previously resulted in books being unavailable for potential buyers.

The sale takes place from May 1 to 3 at the Elora Curling Club: 27 David Street West, Elora.
