Another snowmobile season has come to an end in Wellington County.
The 2014-15 winter season saw Wellington OPP detachment snowmobiles cover over 6,500 kilometres of local Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trails.
OPP two-officer proactive snowmobile patrols exceeded 234 hours across the network of OFSC trails.
This season, police stopped nearly 1,300 snowmobilers and found only 25 infractions where charges were laid. There were two collisions involving motorized snow vehicles resulting in one operator and one passenger suffering minor injuries.
Officers also attended various snowmobile events in the county to offer safety tips, clarify laws and engage in public education.
