Historical Society accepting entries for writing contest

The Wellington County Historical Society is looking for submissions to its annual writing contest.

This year the theme is “ghosts, mysteries and tall tales of Wellington County”.

The competition is open to all ages, but youth or adults are specifically encouraged. The story should be 500 to 2,000 words in length and double spaced. Handwritten submissions are accepted, but typed entries are preferred.

Submissions should include a name, full address, email address and telephone number on a separate sheet of paper.

Winners will be announced at the annual general meeting on June 1. Awards will be presented in both youth and adult categories.

All entries become the property of the historical society and will be stored in the county archives. The deadline is April 15. Stories can be mailed to:
