The Town of Minto has approved façade and signage grants totaling $4,000 for a new business here.
At the Dec. 16 meeting, council approved an application from Elora Street Flowers for improvements to a property at 92 Elora St.
The application involves a face lift to the storefront, which includes:
– a new front door;
– soffit, fascia, eaves trough;
– adding an awning and decorative lighting;
– new board and batten siding; and
– a side panel sign.
“This application truly represents what a facade and signage improvement program is all about,” stated business and economic manager Belinda Wick-Graham.
The grant amount includes $3,000 for façade improvements and $1,000 for signage.
“This would be the last of the $12,000 in grants allocated to the facade program but would still leave $2,000 in signage grants for 2014,” Wick-Graham noted in her report.
