Local businesses and municipalities are benefiting from the province’s Rural Economic Development Program.
The program is working to help communities in western Ontario boost tourism, attract investment and create jobs.
Recently announced beneficiaries include:
– Jaylor Fabricating Inc. (East Garafraxa) will receive up to $10,100 to improve the accuracy and functionality of their Enterprise Resource Planning System, which will support a planned expansion and ongoing staff training;
– the Township of Puslinch will receive up to $16,250 to redevelop and enhance its website to encourage economic development;
– the Town of Minto will receive up to $37,500 for the Minto Creative Industry Incubator, a collaborative project to help small businesses create jobs and enhance local economic development in rural Ontario; and
– Flowers Canada (Ontario) based in Guelph and Vineland will receive up to $772,500 to build upon its Rural Marketing Strategy to increase the market share of locally grown floral products, increase the return available to the rural value chain and encourage innovation in the sector.
