On Oct. 28 Centre Wellington hit the Culture Days national top 10 for a rural community for the second year in a row.
Ranked by the total number of registered Culture Days activities in 2014, the top 10 recognizes the most proactive cities in Canada during Culture Days.
This year Centre Wellington was ranked fifth, up two places from seventh place in 2013. The Culture Days national organization noted the fifth anniversary of Culture Days was “a stellar one” and congratulated the 873 Canadian cities and towns who hosted events.
Elora Fergus Tourism and the township of Centre Wellington joined the rest of Canada to celebrate Culture Days at the end of September, hosting a three-day Cultural Passport event featuring 18 stops with participation and contributions from approximately 50 cultural groups, organizations and businesses.
The weekend was a fantastic success, organizers say, with hundreds of people connecting with the creative and cultural in Centre Wellington.
