Safe Communities/Wellington County has hired a “community development coordinator.”
Christine Veit of Centre Wellington will fill the role starting this month.
A press release from the committee states Veit “has a wealth of experience working with organizations and volunteer committees involved in major fundraising initiatives.”
The statement continues, “Veit’s communication skills will expand the horizons of our Safe Communities initiatives by utilizing social media outlets and by reaching out to local committees and organizations throughout the county.”
Safe Communities co-chairs Jack Hunjan and Gary Williamson say the committee must continue to actively promote new and existing programs to help to reduce injuries within Wellington County.
“The hiring of [Veit], as our Community Coordinator, will allow us to continue with our efforts to make Wellington County a safer place to live, learn, work and play,” committee officials state.
