Taste Real is shaking things up with its harvest dinner this year. The Field Dinner “reinvented” is set to take place on Sept. 14 at Thatcher Farms.
This year’s event will focus on showcasing local, handcrafted food and drink, prepared by the region’s finest chefs. Each dish will feature products grown and raised by our local farmers and will be served in a casual, free flowing dining format.
“It is important for us to value and celebrate the local chef talent, local food options and local food production that occurs in our own backyard,” said Christina Mann, Taste Real coordinator. “The Field Dinner is not only a great place to enjoy delicious, local food but also a great opportunity to connect with local farmers, producers and chefs.”
Host location Thatcher Farms will enhance the Field Dinner experience by providing the opportunity for attendees to engage with a real working farm.
Wagon rides and the chance to view a fully functioning sheep barn are just a few of the many food and farm related activities attendees can take part in throughout the day. Live local music will also be there to entertain.
“Hosting the Taste Real Field Dinner at Thatcher Farms will give attendees a chance to delight in delicious local fare while experiencing the sights and sounds of a real working farm in the fall,” said Dana Thatcher of Thatcher Farms. “We look forward to helping people understand where their food comes from during this afternoon full of food, fun and fall celebrations.”
