Nestlé Waters Canada, Canada’s and Canadian Occupational Safety recently announced the company has been honoured with silver recognition in the manufacturing category of the Canadian Occupational Safety magazine’s 2013 Canada’s Safest Employers Award program.
The Canada’s Safest Employers Award recognizes employers from coast-to-coast for their outstanding achievements in workplace health and safety.
Nestlé Waters Canada was specifically recognized for its commitment to OHSAS 18001, an international occupational health and safety management system registration that requires the company to establish and maintain standards that control health and safety risks.
The company has established annual targets ever since attaining certification in 2010 that have continuous improvement in safety measures.
“Our employees are our most valuable resource and we are strongly committed to their safety as they work to produce the highest quality bottled water in Canada,” said Dwight Carey, regional environmental health and safety manager for Nestlé Waters Canada. “We proactively address hazards through strong leadership participation, involve our employees and provide necessary resources to control them. We are committed to prevent workplace injuries on our premises and are very proud of what we have achieved. The OHSAS 18001 certification is a daily reminder of our commitment to health and safety at our plants.”
