Police find missing 14-year-old boy

After two nights of searching police found missing teen Cody Peller unharmed on the morning of Oct. 2.

OPP constable Cheri Rockefeller told the Advertiser Peller was found in good condition, but was expected to be taken to Groves hospital in Fergus for “precautionary reasons.”

Reports indicate the 14-year-old boy was found not far from his family’s home at about 10:30am.

“The search is still continuing,” OPP constable Cheri Rockefeller had told the Advertiser at about 10am on Wedneday.

On Monday (Sept. 30) at approximately 8pm, Wellington County OPP received a call about the missing teen from Guelph-Eramosa Township.

Police said he was last seen in his residence at approximately 6:15pm that night.

The OPP used a number of resources to  search for Peller, including its canine unit, aviation assistance (including a helicopter) and an emergency response team – in addition to uniformed officers on the ground, Rockefeller said.

The OPP originally requested that the public to stay away from the area, so as to not interfere with the canine unit search.

But on Wednesday morning Rockefeller said police were asking residents in the area of former Eramosa Township to search their properties for any sign of the missing boy.

Police said they had concerns for the youth’s safety.
