Taste Real invites the community to join them on Sept. 28 from 10am to 4pm for the 7th Annual Fall Wellington Rural Romp.
Over a dozen farms, markets, and food retailers in Centre Wellington, Erin, Guelph-Eramosa and Puslinch will open their doors to the public for self-guided tours.
Spend a day in the countryside meeting local farmers and enjoy real taste.
Officials say the Fall Wellington Rural Romp offers activities for the whole family. Visit farm animals, learn more about Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) and pick up fall decorations.
Stock up on harvest produce and handcrafted foods and sample the delicious food local chefs and producers have to offer.
For farm locations, download the map at http://www.tastereal.ca
Participants are encouraged to share photos and videos from the Romp on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/tastereal.
Prizes will be awarded for the best photo in three different categories: farmscapes, family fun, and food.
Don’t forget to mark the calendar for the 2014 events:
– spring Wellington Rural Romp, May 31; and
– fall Wellington Rural Romp, last Saturday in September Sept. 27.
Taste Real supports local businesses and farms and represents a group of people who are passionate about the way local food is grown, prepared, presented and shared.
