On Sept. 10, Wellington County OPP received a report that a grenade was located by a property owner at her residence in the township.
The grenade was in a box and was believed to be of World War vintage. The property owner suspected her deceased relative kept it as a souvenir.
The property was secured and bomb technicians from Canadian Forces Base Borden attended and removed the device.
Wellington County OPP remind the community that if an explosive device or any device that they are unsure of is discovered, they should contact local police to determine what it is and not to touch or move it.
