Harriston group hosts June Mini Flower Show

The Harriston and District Horticultural Society recently held its June Mini Flower Show and meeting in the Seniors Centre.

A good display of flowers were shown, with Mary Cuculich showing the best designs. She received a gift certificate from Steckles Flowers and Produce for the most points in design classes.

Lynn Collins introduced the guests, Bryce and Misty Murph’Ariens of Grey County. Four years ago, they built a home on eight acres of land. They have a horse, cow, some pigs, hens and ducks. After studying permaculture, they are living off the land. Their food consists of garden vegetables, weeds, milk, eggs and the meat they produce.

The meeting was adjourned for a social time and lunch.
