On May 4 at about 11:45pm, the Wellington County OPP received a call from a female in rural Centre Wellington who said she awoke to find an unknown person in her residence, and the unknown subject fled the scene quickly.
Police say the suspect is described as unknown gender or race, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and between 180 and 200 pounds. The person was wearing dark clothing and a dark hoodie that was pulled tight around the face. The hoodie had gold embroidery on the back.
The Wellington County OPP Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team attended the scene and had negative results in locating the person involved.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit is involved with this investigation and continues to investigate. The OPP would like to remind residents to ensure they lock the doors to their homes at all times.
