After the successful launch of the Pitch It! Minto business plan competition in 2011/2012, the Town of Minto is once again offering the program.
The purpose of Pitch It! is to encourage small business growth in the town and to increase awareness of the resources available. The competition is geared towards entrepreneurs who wish to open a new business venture, purchase an existing business, expand an existing business or re-locate an existing business within Minto.
This year, thanks to the support of community sponsors, over $9,000 in cash and prizes are up for grabs to the winner of the competition.
“The rewards for winning Pitch It! are amazing. The business community of Minto is very generous and enthusiastic. You are awarded everything a small business needs to hit the ground running” said Jake Tyson, owner of South Street Café, the winner of last year’s event.
Tyson also commented, “Business plans are a very useful tool to you and your business and will guide you in sustaining a viable product or service. Whatever the outcome of the competition, having a business plan is a valuable reward in itself.”
For anyone interested in entering the competition details and application forms can be found online at www.mintoed.com or at the Town of Minto office located at 5941 Hwy 89, Harriston.
