Andy Goldie is looking forward to his new role as Centre Wellington’s chief administrative officer.
In a recent interview with the Wellington Advertiser Goldie commented “as I said to council as part of the interview, it is about setting the leadership and the direction that blends with what council is wanting to see and where we want to go, and guiding the administrative staff to work towards that vision.
“At the end of the day, council hears from the community as well as staff, but they set the policy and direction of where we are going. It is our role as staff to ensure that we are trying to work with the best resources we have and be effective and efficient at what we are doing.”
He sees many challenges coming up for Centre Wellington.
“We need to rethink about the ways we’ve done things in the past.
“We cannot just say that we were pretty good at it in the past. We need to be continuously looking forward to become better at what we are doing.”
Goldie said that with staff, they are going to look at different ways, and partnerships in providing services.
“We need to work more cohesively as a team in order to meet the needs of our community.”
