The Arboretum at University of Guelph is hosting a series of fall workshops.
Basic SLR Photography
Join guest photographer Sylvia Galbraith on Oct. 20 from 10am to 4:30pm where participants will look at a range of topics designed for the beginner SLR photographer.
The principles of photography and topics such as types of cameras, camera settings, lenses, ISO, determining exposures and apertures, using filters and accessories, working with composition and lighting, and more will be discussed. The course will help participants solve the challenges of working with a technical medium, while stimulating their creative side. Participants should bring their camera. Suitable for both film and digital photographers.
The registration fee is $100 plus HST. For more information or to register by the deadline of Oct. 11.
Winter Birds Workshop
The workshop will focus on local winter birds found in surrounding natural areas.
The workshop runs from 9am to 4pm on Oct. 19 and is taught by Chris Earley, naturalist. Migration, winter survival strategies, seed preferences and calls will also be discussed. The workshop fee is $75 plus HST and the registration deadline is Oct. 11.
