Dedication of pet memorial

On Oct. 20 Trooper’s Forget-Me-Not Memorial Garden dedication ceremony takes place at the Upper Credit Humane Society Shelter, 5383 Trafalgar Road.

“To have the Memorial Garden dedicated in his name is full circle in addition to the Troopers Fund which was set up to help special needs animals that come through our doors…surgeries, dental etc., that we could not otherwise afford,” says Judith-Anne Kolu, of the Upper Credit Humane Society.

Erin Mayor Lou Maieron will officiate at the 1pm ribbon cutting. A shelter open house in the afternoon will follow the dedication. The memorial is being established to provide a place where members of the community can honour past pets with a special place of remembrance. Two standard sizes will be available as well as a customized option. Gift certificates will also be available. Proceeds from sales go to the care of the animals in the shelter.
