Guelph-Eramosa artist Marion Campbell says she was shocked when Marden library officials asked her to host a show at the branch.
“It was a surprise to me,” she said with a smile.
While hesitant at first, Campbell soon warmed to the idea and, with the help of family and friends, brought 35 pieces of art to the library for a display that will run until the end of July.
“It’s a real honour to get this stuff on display like this,” said Campbell, a longtime resident of the area with familial ties to former Guelph Township dating back to 1835.
Her work ranges from photos and pen and ink drawings to various types of paintings and copper tooling pieces – and the subject matter is as varied as the media.
Feedback on the display, which began at the beginning of June, has been overwhelmingly positive, Campbell said.
The display can be viewed during regular library hours which are available at www.county.wellington.on.ca.
