A bit of damp weather had no impact on spirits of participants in the annual Gender Blender tournament here last weekend.
Starting in 1997 as an early development in a competitive mixed ultimate event, it quickly developed a reputation as the essential start to a summer of ultimate frisbee in the Great Lakes area. In 2008, the tourney came under the direction of The Ultimate Experience.
With teams and players coming from as far afield as England, Mexico, Australia, Germany and beyond, Gender Blender is gaining ground as a must-see event in the global ultimate community.
Teams typically are attracted from as far afield as Denver, New York and Cincinnati. This year’s event included a team from Newfoundland.
Gender Blender has two components as a charity event supporting organizations such as the Centre Wellington Food Bank.PHOTOS ABOVE:
