Councillors here plan to have at least some representation at the coming active transportation meeting for local politicians on June 14.
On May 22, council continued its May 15 session with a discussion of that meeting.
The active transportation plan is to enhance or increase opportunities for cycling, walking and other outdoor activities with the extra intent of linking trails throughout the county.
The session is to present the county-wide and municipal plans in addition to an outline of the process to develop the plan and encourage the public to take part.
As well, the presentation will consider the implementation plan, policies that will be needed, budgeting and next steps. Though some councillors had prior commitments, some, including the mayor intend to be present.
Mayor Lou Maieron anticipated it would be good to see how all the individual pieces are coming together.
