Building activity here in the first three months of 2012 is far outstripping what the town saw at the same time last year.
Council, at its April 4 meeting, received a report from the building department showing that in the first three months this year Minto registered building permits valued at $2,244,000 or 32 permits issued.
The town registered 11 permits for the same period last year totalling $348,000.
The largest increases came in the form of residential additions and renovations valued at $97,000, $413,000 for institutional much coming from renovations to the Harriston Library and $478,000 in agriculture.
