The Easter Bunny is making his annual appearance at James McQueen School on Saturday, March 31 from 9am to 1lam.
The school's parent council and community volunteers will be hard at work flipping and serving pancakes for visitors to enjoy.
New for this year's event is a silent auction filled with items generously donated by local community members and businesses such as: hockey sticks signed by Guelph Storm players, a football signed by a Toronto Argo's player, family passes to Bingeman's and FunMazing and restaurant gift certificates.
In 1995, the Bunny Breakfast began as a way to raise funds toward new furniture and equipment for the library. Since then, the proceeds of the event have helped pay for additional student resources, playground revitalization and equipment, and library books, dependent upon the school's greatest need. A few years, the funds have been given to families in need in the school community.
Every year, about 500 people pass through the doors of this highly anticipated event.
James McQueen School is a mid-sized school located in an older section of Fergus. It was the original school in town and was named after the first School Headmaster in the county, James McQueen, who was once known as "the best educated man north of the Niagara River".
