Township spent $112,855 on council last year

Figures on what Wellington North council cost taxpayers in 2011 were made public at Monday evening’s council meeting.

The total cost for council was $112,855, slightly over a  $110,000 budget; while mileage was slightly under the $5,500 budget at $5,230 and convention and seminar costs totaled $10,410 (under the $15,000 budget).

Mayor Ray Tout had a total cost of $37,025 last year (all figures rounded off), including a base salary of $17,390, meeting fees of $10,725 and $8,900 for work done during the evacuation of 200 Sandy Lake  residents to Arthur last summer.

That $8,900 for Sandy Lake work was covered entirely by the province. The mayor also received $1,900 in mileage and $3,290 for conventions and seminars.

Councillor Mark Goetz had a total cost of $20,490, with a base salary of $11,590, meeting per diem of $8,625 and   Sandy Lake costs of $275 that was reimbursed by the province. He also received $850 in mileage and $385 for  conventions and seminars.

Councillor Dan Yake was paid $18,940 with a base salary of $11,590 and meeting per diem of $7,350. He received $775 for mileage and $1,530 for conventions and seminars.

Councillor Andy Lennox received $18,416 with the base salary and meeting per diem pay of $6,825. He also  received $955 for mileage and $2,575 for conventions and seminars.

Councillor Sherry Burke received total remuneration of $17,980, with the base salary, meeting pay of $5,400 and  Sandy Lake pay of $990 reimbursed by the province. She also received  $745 for mileage and $2,530 for conventions and seminars.
