Puslinch council costs $135,506 in 2011

The cost of Puslinch council is growing.

In 2011, that cost rose to $135,506 – just under 9% or $11,178 more than what was spent in 2010.

Below are the pay, including expenses for 2011, as released by council at its March 7 meeting.

Councillors receive a base annual salary plus a per diem for any meetings over and above regular council meetings.

Mayor Dennis Lever received $37,158 with a $10,959 base, $19,557 for additional meetings and $5,528 expenses.

Councillor Ken Roth, $21,724; $7,253 base, $6,360 additional meetings and $6,839 expenses.

Councillor Jerry Schmidt $26,271; $7,253 base, $6,572 additional meetings and $10,167 expenses.

Councillor Wayne Stokley $22,052; $7,253 base, $8,586 for additional meetings and $5,577 expenses.

Councillor Susan Fielding $28,301; $7,253 base, $9,222 additional meetings and $9,176 expenses.

Councillor Susan Fielding's amount was actually less than in 2010.

In addition to regular council meetings, the above figures included pay for councillors’ roles on the township’s adjustment, planning and advisory and recreation committees.

Not included, however, are extra pay and expenses for outside boards such as the Grand River Conservation Authority, Hamilton Conservation Authority and local source water protection committees.
