The Art of Thomas Nisbet, Master Cabinetmaker is a new exhibit featured at the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre
The exhibit is jointly organized by the centre, Maus Park Antiques in Paris, and Kings Landing Historical Settlement in New Brunswick. It is being presented with the support of the University of Guelph and McMaster University.
Thomas Nisbet (1777-1850) is considered one of Canada’s greatest identified cabinet makers. This exhibition features 22 examples of formal furniture either made by or attributed to Nisbet in Saint John, New Brunswick between 1814 and circa 1830.
