The 2012 Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health held its inaugural meeting on Jan. 4.
Amanda Rayburn was re-elected chairman and Doug Auld was re-elected vice chairman. The position of secretary-treasurer will be decided at the Feb. 1 meeting of the board. There are also four committees of the board: personnel, finance, audit, and facilities.
The board is made up of Ontario appointees Auld, Diane Lindsey, Keith Perron, Rayburn, and Rose Silvestro, along with elected representatives from local municipalities.
Those include: Wellington councillors John Green, Joanne Ross-Zuj and Warden Chris White; Dufferin councillors Paul Mills and Allen Taylor. Guelph has not appointed any representatives.
Guelph withdrew its representatives over a dispute about the board building new headquarters in Guelph and Orangeville. That issue has yet to be decided by the courts.
The ex-officio member of the board is Dr. Nicola Mercer, the medical officer of health and chief executive officer.
