On Dec. 26 at about 10:18am Wellington County OPP officers responded to a collision west of Conestogo Lake.
Dead is Adrienne Noble, 92, of Wallace Township.
OPP Constable Mark Cloes reported that police and the Mapleton Fire Department located the crash at the intersection of Wellington Road 10 and Concession 3 in Mapleton Township.
Cloes said the investigation revealed that a 2000 Toyota Echo, operated by Noble, was travelling east on Concession 3 and entered the intersection at Wellington Road 10, where it collided with a northbound 2005 Chevy Van.
The van was operated by Mary Stuebing, 65, of Rothsay, who was treated at Palmerston and District Hospital for minor injuries.
Noble and passenger Sean Gregersen, 31, of British Columbia, were transported to Listowel Memorial Hospital, where Noble later succumbed to her injuries. Gregersen was treated for non life threatening injuries.
Coroner Dr. Arif Qureshi was notified a post mortem examination was conducted at Stratford General Hospital on Dec. 28.
West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation. The roadway was closed for approximately five hours due to the investigation.
