Waterloo/Wellington Sustainable Farming Awards

The Waterloo/Wellington Local 340 of the National Farmers Union in Ontario is proud to present the fourth annual Sustainable Farming Awards and AGM on Thursday March 28.

Building on the previous years’ successful awards presentation, once again farmers nominated in the areas of barn preservation, sustainable farming, and future farmers, will be recognized for their achievements and contributions.

Effectively this recognizes farmers past, present and future.

Waterloo/Wellington local is fortunate to have Paul Kozak, Provincial Apiarist, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, who will share his thoughts and the latest research regarding bee populations in Ontario.

John Sutherland, newly elected president of the NFU-Ontario, stated: “This has been a very successful evening for us over the years by bringing together members, associates, and others that support family farms, and continued access to locally grown food.

Additionally, we’ve always been very pleased with the culinary skills of chef Chris Jess and the students from the Fergus Food School, who prepare and serve an extraordinary meal with locally donated food from our members”.

The evening will include dinner, live music, and great conversation.

Tickets for this event are $20, and will be held at the Arthur Legion, 281 George Street, Arthur, starting at 6pm. For more information please contact.
