There is a blood donor clinic on Dec. 9 at Norwell District Secondary School here.
The clinic will run from 12:30 to 8pm.
Organizers noted is an commercial by Canadian Blood Services that states that some people think giving blood is uncomfortable; however uncomfortable is taking a spouse to the hospital for emergency surgery or being told a child has cancer and will need to undergo treatments, including the possibility of a blood transfusion. That is uncomfortable.
Organizers also noted that Minto recently had an election and approximately 6,500 people eligible to vote. If they could get just four per cent of those people to donate, they would reach 260 donations.
They currently need 70 to 80 more people to donate to reach that total.
