Ross-Zuj reflects on past term as county warden

In reflecting on the past term of council, Ross-Zuj said, “At this particular meeting of council we have to say goodbye to some members and we will welcome the new members.”

“It’s been a privilege and certainly an honour to serve with each and every one of you.”

She described the experience as “a lifetime memory of all the things we have gone through, and the accomplishments we have had.

“Over the past two years, this council has moved mountains in terms of the receiving of stimulus funding and moving projects we already had on schedule, and bringing them forward.”

She said, “I really admire the passion you have for not only your municipalities, but that you have for this county – and how collectively you work so well together to make things happen in such a positive way. I consider all of you to be my friends, and I look forward to many conversations in the future.”

For those of you with a new chapter you are going to begin in your life journey, I wish you all the best.

“Whatever you choose to do, you are going to be a success because you take such skills out into the community.”

She added, “Collectively, I would like to congratulate this council.”

Ross-Zuj added that the work that is done is not possible without the staff.

“We have the best staff in this county.”

She said they certainly are deserving being counted among the top 100 places to work in Canada.

“They are just a great group of professionals. I would like to thank them for all they do – they make us look good.”
