GUELPH – This year the Guelph Transit Commission has partnered with City Police and has provided bottle opener and fridge magnets that will be handed out during the coming Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere programs.
Sergeant Douglas Pflug reported that in doing so, Guelph Transit is reminding people that public transit is an alternative option to get home after partying.
Further, the local chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving has donated new RIDE safety equipment, including traffic cones, advance warning signs, new flashlights and L.E.D. road flares to the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit.
The program is designed to cut down on drinking and driving and make the streets safer for everyone.
