The county OPP Auxiliary Unit held a Thanksgiving good drive at Zehrs Markets here from Oct. 7 to 9.
Zehrs Market manager Jay McMillan and Zehrs employees teamed up with the county Auxiliary members with a very successful food drive for the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
OPP Constable Mark Cloes reported the community and the Zehrs Market donated over 5,200 pounds of food and over $2,400 in cash.
Although the total weight of the items was not as much as last year, Alexsandrowicz, the manager of the food bank, said that there were more items donated. Auxiliary Staff Sergeant Bruce McGimse sent out a thanks to the Zehrs and local community for assisting with the worthy cause.
