Wellington North’s economic development committee heard a recent proposal for a community radio station.
Business and economic manager Dale Small and committee member Ray Tout provided an overview at a recent meeting.
Part of of the presentation included a discussion about start-up and ongoing costs, as well as the initial requirement to have the CRTC consider and approve the plan. A board of directors structure and make-up was also discussed.
Councillor Bob Mason was directed to provide Small with contact information regarding an individual who looked into a similar program a number of years ago. Committee members agreed that it, along with the Mount Forest Chamber of Commerce, would do further investigation and get information about a community based radio station to be located in Mount Forest.
