The Groves Hospital Volunteer Association is continuing a long-standing tradition building on the past, to ensure a healthy community for the future.
Director of Communica-tions Lorraine Gilbert stated that since 1963,the Groves hospital volunteer association has awarded bursaries to selected students entering health related courses in colleges and universities.
The $2,000 bursaries are paid in equal increments over a two year period.
This year, those bursaries go to the three successful candidates representing Centre Wellington District High School and Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Guelph:
– Brigitte Bosomworth (CWDHS) attending Conestoga College – pro health sciences;
– Jose Haney (CWDHS) attending Loyalist college – fitness and health promotion; and,
– Jordan Baker (Lourdes) attending University of Waterloo – Honors science.
